Purpose of the job

• Research, develop and deliver strategic insight and approach to B2B client marketing projects.
• Capability to work across a wider range of B2B and B2B2C client projects.
• Define strategy and rationale, marketing proposition, mechanics, journey and key stakeholder messaging.
• Design and undertake proprietary qualitative and quantitative research to discover audience insights and clinic approaches.
• Brand discovery and brand strategy development
• Responsible for writing/reviewing the creative brief, and distilling key insights that direct the creative development through a single-minded proposition.
• Responsible for designing the communication strategy, campaign planning and content plans
• Ensure that outcomes and objectives are defined, measurable and reported
• Development of pitch narrative with wider pitch team and playing a leading role in pitch proposals and delivery

Key Responsibilities

• Define specific business and marketing challenge with client.
• Understand technology / product / service proposition often scientific / technical.
• Undertake market planning and market structural analyses.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of the context of a marketing challenge by analysing and distilling a range of different information, including researching audiences, understanding their behaviours and motivations, the market context; competitive landscape, product proposition and potential differentiators.
• Research and identify key audience insights, motivations and behaviours.
• Design, commission and undertake research to inform advertising and marketing strategies, using both qualitative methods, such as focus groups and structured interviews, and quantitative methods, such as surveys.
• Make strategic recommendations, share insights and solutions that will meet the business and marketing objective.
• Provide the creative team with a clearly defined brief that contains concise information on the product, audience and strategy.
• Ensure recommended approach is compliant with relevant industry codes.
• Define performance metrics, and analyse and interpret results to demonstrate the effectiveness of the activity against agreed objectives.
• Develop content and facilitate strategic workshops in partnership with client services and creative teams.
• Keep up-to-date with market trends, technology and new marketing methods.
• Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with other functional teams within Purple, such as Media, Creative and Client services.

• Broad appreciation of different marketing techniques especially ABM / CRM / digital / social landscape

• Experience in B2B planning / strategic marketing role
• Marketing / planning experience agency-side (preferred) or client-side
